Earlier this month, the Springfield Sports Commission and Missouri Sports Hall of Fame announced the winners of their annual Athlete of the Year Awards.
The awards honor top athletes and teams from different sports for their accomplishments the past school year.
While no Lakes Area Athletes won top honors this year, several were nominated. Branson Wrestling and Track Standout Kyshin Isringhausen was one of the nominees for Male Athlete of the Year.

The athletes of the year for the region were Camdenton High School’s Kam Durnin and El Dorado Springs’ Macie Mays while the teams of the year were the Ash Grove Baseball and Lebanon Girls Wrestling squads.
