While Classifications and Conference Alignments are set for this year, the new alignments to begin with the 2024 school year have been released by the Arkansas Activities Association.
For Football, Harrison will remain in 5A with Huntsville making the jump one classification into 5A. Berryville and Green Forest will represent the area in Class 4A with Yellville-Summit in Class 3A.
In other sports, Harrison will stay in 5A by a slim margin, coming in as the second from the lowest number of students in that classification.
A change will come to Green Forest starting in 2024 as they will move up from 3A to 4A joining fellow Carroll County School Berryville, who stays in 4A. Huntsville will also continue in 4A.
Four area schools, Yellville-Summit, Bergman, Valley Springs, and Flippin will stay in 3A.
By a slim margin, Marshall will be the largest school in Class 2A. Eureka Springs will continue in 2A while Alpena will move up to 2A from 1A.
Other area school districts including Jasper, Lead Hill, Omaha, Kingston, and Mount Judea will remain in Class 1A
Though consolidated now as the Ozark Mountain School District, Bruno-Pyatt, St. Joe, and Western Grove were listed separately in the list of schools under Class 1A.
