Basketball Games heard on MOARK Sports Monday included a win for a team with a player reaching a milestone while another team won an opening round tournament game.

The Pirates rolled out to a big lead but the drama continued as a player was reaching for a milestone. Jayce Culver needed 25 points to reach 1000 for his career and had only 8 at halftime of their home contest against the Cubs. Branson is on the road for the next two and a half weeks so the team banded together to help Culver obtain the goal as his teammates fed him the ball at every opportunity which helped Culver score 17 third quarter points to hit the mark. As soon as the three-point shot went down to get him the mark, Coach Pete McBride called a timeout while the student section showered the court with streamers and toilet paper and mobbed Culver for the achievement. Branson had a 34 point lead going to the fourth quarter but Monett outscored them 20-3 to make the game closer, though the Pirates hold on for the win to break a four game losing streak.

The Wolves take the match-up of four-five seeds at the Spokane Tournament behind the 25 points of Nathan Mitchell to earn the win and a rematch with Springfield Greenwood in Thursday's semi-finals after the Blue Jays won their opening game against host Spokane.

In other games involving MOARK Schools, the Branson Lady Pirates grab a first round win at the Osage Tournament knocking off Springfield Central 48-33. The Lady Pirates move on to the semi-finals on Thursday.

The Hollister Girls pick-up their second win of the year as they go on the road to beat Seneca 45-30.

Bradleyville wins their opening game of the Cabool Girls Tournament beating Gainesville 60-53.
