It's the last week for the regular season of High School Football in Missouri while three weeks remain in Arkansas with important games on both sides of the boarder.
For three Missouri schools, it will be the final games in their current conferences as Branson is leaving the Central Ozark Conference while Hollister and Reeds Spring are playing their final games in the Big Eight.
Branson hosts Webb City tonight with a Pirate win and/or a Glendale loss to Camdenton would secure a home district game next week against the Falcons. The Pirates have only beaten the Cardinals once in the series, in 1998. Both teams are coming off wins last week, the Pirates at Ozark, the Cardinals at home to Neosho.
Although technically not a conference game, the Hollister Tigers are playing their final crossover game from the East to West Division of the league as they play at Class 2 Top Ranked Lamar. Hollister lost their game at Springfield Catholic last week while Lamar knocked off Cassville.
Reeds Spring will play for their second straight Big Eight East Championship and the number two seed in the upcoming district playoffs as they take on Mount Vernon. The winner of the game will claim both the East Title and the second seed. The Wolves outlasted Rogersville last week while the Mountaineers got by Marshfield.
Forsyth plays on the road to wrap-up the regular season at Springfield Central. The Panthers lost for only the second time last week, falling at home to undefeated Butler while the Bulldogs lost at Booneville. Barring any upsets tonight, the Panthers will be the number two seed in the Class 2 District Playoffs and host Willow Springs next week.
Meanwhile in Arkansas, the Harrison Goblins, coming off a big win at Alma last week, are fighting to earn a second seed and a home game in the upcoming 5A West Conference Race. The Goblins play at Dardanelle tonight and while currently sitting fifth in the standings, will look to win out while the teams ahead of them play each other which would help the Goblins move up into the standings. The top two teams will host opening round playoff games in three weeks.
