Blue Eye Falls in District Final
The Blue Eye Lady Bulldogs were hoping to use the home crowd to push itself by top seeded Marionville in the Class 2 District Championship game, and while the the home team played tough, it wasn't enough to keep the Lady Comets from claiming the district title winning the game 43-34. Blue Eye ends their season 15-12 while Marionville notches their 20th win in moving on to State Tournament Play. The Blue Eye Boys, who beat Crane in the District Final on Friday, will host Pleasant Hope in a Class 2 Sectional Monday at 7:00.
Forsyth Wins Finale
In a game added late in the season to be a tune-up for District Play, the Forsyth Lady Panthers overcame a tough shooting day to down visiting Dixon 47-37. After trailing by seven at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Panthers got on track and used a 17-4 second quarter to secure a halftime lead. Forsyth could never shake the visiting Lady Bulldogs and in the final two minutes, led only by one. The Lady Panthers finished the game with a 9-0 run to secure the win. Callie Oldenburg led the Lady Panthers with 16 points with Lilia Roberts and Zoe White each added 12.
