The Branson Football Pirates continue to make the most of their new conference this season as they are one step closer to a perfect regular season and a conference championship.
The Pirates pulled a way in what started as a shootout, and rolled over Rogersville 56-14 Thursday night to clinch a tie for the first Ozark Mountain Conference Football Championship.
The early part of the game saw the Wildcats hang tough thanks primarily to the play of Freshman Quarterback Kasimir Manczuk who threw for over 200 yards and led two scoring drives in the first half. Pirate Quarterback Jr Pastrana, filling in for the injured Luke McCormick, ran for three scores and threw for one score on his only pass of the night. The Pirates amassed over 400 yards, all but five on the ground, in the win. The Pirates also blocked two punts and forced one turnover in the win.
Branson is 8-0 and can wrap-up a perfect regular season plus remain on the inside track for the top seed in the upcoming district playoffs next week with a win in the Pirates home finale against Hillcrest which would also wrap-up the outright Ozark Mountain Conference title.
