A smothering Marshfield Defense kept the Branson Lady Pirates at bay and led the home team to a District Basketball Championship.

The Lady Blue Jays was able to control the Lady Pirate offense on their way to a 53-37 win Monday night. The Lady Pirate defense was able to slow Marshfield at points during the game, including early in the third quarter where they were held scoreless for almost three minutes, but Branson was only able to manage three free throws during that time when Marshfield was able to get going. Branson also closed the gap to nine entering the final period, but a 14-7 fourth quarter sealed the win for the Lady Blue Jays.

Three seniors, Ellison Mehroff, Rylie Hagston, and Maci Rogers led the Branson scoring with nine, eight, and six points each.

Branson finishes the season with a 17-11 record which included winning 9 of their final 12 games.
