Branson Girls Advance in District, Arkansas Schools Continue State Play

Postseason Basketball Wednesday included a first round win for Branson plus continuing action in the State Tournaments for Arkansas Schools.

Class 5 District Tournament at Marshfield
Branson built up a 21 point second half lead then held off a Hillcrest rally that cut the lead to nine in the final two minutes before securing their 64-51 win, their second over the Springfield school this season. Taylor Foster was dominated inside but also knocked down several mid-range jump shots to net 23 points to lead Branson to the win, and a rematch with West Plains in the district semi-finals on Friday. The Lady Zizzers, who beat the Lady Pirates 39-31 at the Pink and White in December, also ended the season for Branson in last season's district tournament.

Tonight on MOARK Sports, the same two schools will meet in the Boys District Tournament also at Marshfield at 8:30.
