Coaching Additions in Harrison, Hollister

With several schools in the Lakes Region, often a coach will make a transition from one Lakes Area School to another.

Another example of that happened recently involving the Harrison and Hollister School Districts.

In July, Pete Leonard left Hollister after guiding the High School Boys Basketball team for seven seasons left to take an opening in Harrison where he will assume assistant coaching duties in Volleyball and Softball. Leonard's last three Hollister seasons were the best, leading the Tigers to 18, 20, and 22 wins and back to back runner-up finishes in the Class 4 District Tournament.

With Leonard's move to Harrison, Hollister will fill the Boys Basketball position from within the school district. According to a release from the district, current Transportation Director and Boys and Girls Golf Coach Mike Plante will assume the role. Superintendent Brian Wilson, during an interview on KRZK's Ozarks Now program, says that Plante has served in other coaching capacities at Hollister and is happy that he has accepted this role to lead the Tigers Program.
