Several schools took advantage of the off day from the classroom on Friday to host events for their teams.
In Forsyth, their complex hosted both Baseball and Softball events.
The Forsyth Lady Panther Softball Tournament took place with the one day event hosting a round-robin event of four teams. The host Lady Panthers went undefeated taking first place in the event, winning games over Hollister 13-1, Clever 4-1, and Plato 8-1. Clever finished second followed by Plato and Hollister. The other scores were Clever 7 Plato 4, Clever 16 Hollister 0, and Plato 20 Hollister 2.
Meanwhile next door at the baseball field, a match-up of top area baseball teams featured Forsyth hosting Rogersville. Despite a couple of outstanding defense plays turned over by the Panthers in the game, the visiting Wildcats eventually prevailed 3-1.
In Branson, the Baseball Pirates were originally scheduled to be off but scheduled make-up games from some lost earlier in the year due to the extreme cold weather. The Pirates hosted Blue Valley from Overland Park, Kansas and split a doubleheader, The Pirates took the opener 5-1 but were blank in the second game 5-0.
