
State Basketball Tournaments are entering quarterfinal rounds in both Arkansas and Missouri while several area big schools are still alive in District Tournament Competition.
Arkansas
State Tournaments continue at six sites including North Arkansas College, the site of the 3A State Tournament hosted by Explore Harrison, Harrison Parks and Recreation, and Valley Springs High School. The three remaining Girls and Boys quarterfinals take place beginning at 1:00 today with the winners joining the Lamar Girls and Boys in the semi-finals Saturday. Bergman was eliminated by Elkins in their opening round boy's game Thursday 46-37.
In other action involving area teams, Berryville loses 62-36 to Arkadelphia in the 4A Tournament at Magnolia.
Jasper is set to play in the 1A Girls Quarterfinals today at 4:00 against Marked Tree at Trumann.
Missouri
Blue Eye continues a run in the Class 2 Boys State Tournament as they will play at Eugene in the quarterfinal at 6:00. That game can be heard on MARK Sports Dot Com at 6:00.
Also in action this evening, Forsyth is playing for a Class 4 District Title playing tournament host Rogersville at 6:00 also on MOARK Sports.
Thursday night, two of three area teams in action won their games. In the Class 6 Girls District at Ozark, fifth seeded Branson rolled to a victory over fourth seeded Glendale 60-33 while in Hollister, third seeded Reeds Spring upended second seed Mountain Grove 51-45.
Both teams play on Saturday, the Lady Pirates at 1:00 against Nixa in the District Semi-finals, the Lady Wolves at 2:00 against Rogersville for the Class 4 District Title. Rogersville knocked off host Hollister in the other game Thursday 72-23.
