Holiday Tournament Wrap-Ups: Harrison Sweeps LT Classic, Branson 4th and Blue and Gold

All of the Holiday Tournaments have concluded wrapping up the 2023 portion of the High School Basketball Season.

LT Classic
The host teams sweep the titles at the Lendel Thomas Classic at Harrison High School. After losing on opening day, the Lady Goblins claimed two straight wins, including Saturday's 70-50 win over Marshall to take the title while the Goblins won three straight games. After pulling away from Carthage and Earle in the first two rounds, the Goblins close it out by rolling by Marshall 78-35. The Carthage Boys and Highland Girls each beat Earle to claim wins on the final day. 

Blue and Gold
Branson finishes fourth in the Gold Division, losing to Sparta in Friday's Third Place game 67-46 at Missouri State University. This is the Pirates best finish in the Blue and Gold in 13 years. Willard takes third in the Blue Division with a 56-53 overtime win over Fair Grove. The titles go to Nixa in the Blue, 59-48 over Republic, and Central in the Gold, 77-47, over Glendale. 

Pink and White
Branson dropped a 39-31 decision to West Plains in the Pink Division Consolation semi-final on Friday at Drury University. The finals of the tournament were played on Saturday with Kickapoo winning the Pink Division 57-47 over Fort Smith Northside with Greenwood, Ark. taking the White Division, 44-41 over Nixa. 

Berryville Holiday Hoops
The Bergman teams split the Championship Games, the Girls beat Arkadelphia 51-36 while the Boys dropped a 57-55 decision to Clinton. The Berryville Girls took fourth, losing the third place game to Clinton 59-45 while the Boys lost to Arkadelphia in their third place game 57-46. In other action at the tournament, Crane takes fifth on the Girls Side with a 52-47 win over Green Forest while Shirley takes seventh 53-39 over Omaha. On the Boys Side, in the fifth place game it was Strong 59 Green Forest 54 while in the seventh place game, it was Shirley 56 Omaha 44.

North Ark Tournament Finals
Norfork wins the Girls Title with a 53-45 win over Mountain View while the Marshall Boys won the other title over Mountain View 87-66.

Walnut Grove Tournament
Earlier in the week, the Blue Eye Girls took third place in the tournament with a 44-24 win over Sparta while Spokane won the Consolation Bracket over Pierce City 77-61.   On Friday, the Hollister Boys won the Consolation Bracket, knocking off Billings 43-30.
