MOARK Sports Report 5/10

Tuesday's MOARK Sports Report includes a recap of the District Softball Championship game in Forsyth.

The title game between the host Lady Panthers and the top seeded Sparta Lady Trojans stayed close, as pitchers Kloe Hendrickson for Forsyth and Natalie Wilks for Sparta kept the other team from having big innings. Each team got a run in the first, then Forsyth took the lead in the third only to have Sparta tie it at two in the fourth. The game stayed that way until Kenzie Wilson for Sparta hit a two-out home run in the sixth followed by Wilks setting the side down in order in the seventh to claim the win.

Sparta moves on to host Mount Vernon in the Class 2 Section next week. Mount Vernon rallied to take a 7-6 win over Diamond in that District Final Tuesday in Mount Vernon.

In the Class 2 District Tennis Tournament, Branson shuts out Springfield Catholic 5-0 to move on to today's District final at home against Willard.

In the Class 1 District Final, Springfield's New Covenant Academy claims the title over Forsyth 5-0.

Coming up today on MOARK Sports, Branson hosts Camdenton in baseball action at 4:30.
