While most of the District Baseball and Soccer Action in the region was postponed due to showers and thunderstorms rolling through the region, one area district tournament did get their semi-finals completed Monday.
The Class 2 District at Blue Eye saw Marionville upend top seed Purdy 8-7 while New Covenant Academy from Springfield edged out Galena 3-2. Marionville and New Covenant will play for the District Championship this evening at 6:00 in Blue Eye.
The other Districts involving area teams all got postponed, including the Class 3 Baseball in Strafford involving Forsyth and the Class 4 District in Rogersville involving Hollister. Both the Panthers and Tigers will play the host teams in the semi-finals this afternoon with both games starting at 4:30.
Also postponed, the final two first round games of the Class 3 Soccer Tournament at Springfield Glendale. The Branson Lady Pirates will play West Plains in their opening match at 6:00.
Branson and West Plains also play in the opening round of the Class 5 District Baseball Tournament this evening at Pirate Park. It will be the fourth of four games on the day scheduled to start at 7:00. The other games will feature Camdenton-Hillcrest at 1:00, Glendale-Marshfield at 3:00, and Willard-Parkview at 5:00.
