MSHSAA Approves Limited Shot Clock Use for Upcoming Basketball Season

While several states including Arkansas has added the Shot Clock to High School Basketball Games, until this year, Missouri has not been in that group.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSSA) approves limited usage for a 35 Second Shot Clock for the upcoming season. Those limited uses are for regular season tournaments and shootouts with prior approval from the association.

In a release issued Wednesday, MSHSAA Assistant Executive Director Doug Fessler said that this suggestion game for the MSHSAA Basketball Advisory Committee. With several schools hosting events involving teams from out of state, this provides an opportunity for those schools to utilize a shot clock during those events according to Fessler.

The release says the clock will not be used in MSHSAA Postseason events for the coming season.
