In postseason basketball, seasons end suddenly, even ones that have been special.

Two area high schools experienced that on Wednesday in postseason basketball action covered by MOARK Sports.
The Harrison Goblins had one of their best seasons winning the 5A West Conference and being ranked as one of the best teams in the state, but ran into a hot Little Rock Catholic team losing in the first round of the 5A State Tournament 62-52 at Greene County Tech.

For the Branson Pirates, their loss was not as big of surprise as they were the fifth seed in their Class 6 District at Nixa. But the Pirates, who had been playing well of late, could not overcome a slow start and lost to Springfield Glendale 74-55. Despite the loss, the Pirates enjoyed their first winning season in nine years.

One lakes area team did win Wednesday as Forsyth pulled away from Mountain Grove 70-53 to move on to the Class 4 District Finals Friday at Rogersville against the host team.
