Saturday proved to be tough days for several MOARK Schools in games covered online.
Lendel Thomas Classic
The Harrison Boys and Branson Girls were going for LT Classic Championships Saturday at Goblin Arena but neither team could not overcome slow starts in dropping their title games.
In the Girls Championship, the Bergman Lady Panthers surged to a 14 point lead then had to withstand several Lady Pirate runs, including one that cut the lead to one in the final minute before the Lady Panthers hit three of four free throws in securing 50-46 win. Brinley Collins led Bergman with 22 points while Branson's Angel Craigg scored 21 points.
In the Boys Championship, Carthage started the game on an 8-0 run and while the Goblins kept making runs, the Tigers maintained the advantage eventually securing the 66-61 win. Hayden Martin led he Goblins with 17 points.
The Harrison Lady Goblins lost in the Girls 3rd Place Game, losing to Earle 50-44 while Bergman ran away from Valley Springs in the Boys 3rd Place Game 83-54.
Blue and Gold
The Branson Pirates, playing in the Blue and Gold Semi-finals for the second year in a row, played a slowdown game with fellow Ozark Mountain Conference Rogersville keeping the game close in the first half, but the Wildcats took control in the second half rolliing to a 54-34 win. Jayce Culver led the Pirates with 14 points. Branson will play Hillcrest in the 3rd Place Game at Great Southern Bank Arena at Missouri State Monday at 5:30. Blue Eye takes 3rd at the Walnut Grove Girls Tournament, holding off Fordland 37-35.
Reeds Spring lost in the consolation round of the Pink and White Lady Classic 43-40 to Greenwood.
Forsyth drops their final game of the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitational, losing the 5th Place Game to Cedar Ridge 75-49 while the Forsyth JV also lost, dropping a 53-43 decision to host Highland.
