Branson Beats Catholic in District Match-Up
The Baseball Pirates continue their recent surge as they knocked off Springfield Catholic 5-2 in a match-up of Class 5 District opponents at Pirate Park. Catholic lead 2-1 until Branson plated two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to secure their first win over the Irish since 2017. Gage Depee and Whitt Miller hit solo home runs to help pace the Pirate attack as pitchers Hunter Jones and Collin Ross combined for 11 strikeouts in the win.
Forsyth Outscores Blue Eye
For the second day in a row, the Forsyth Lady Panthers got a run rule victory over a fellow area school. After knocking off Hollister 16-1 on Monday, the Lady Panthers travel to Blue Eye and get a 12-2 win over the Lady Bulldogs. Lindsey Essery hit her third home run in two days while Haiden Hollie also homered to led the Lady Panthers.
Harrison Swept On the Road
It was a rough day for the Harrison Lady Goblin Softball squad as they were swept at Greenwood, losing by scores of 15-0 and 16-1. After winning their first conference doubleheader, the Lady Goblins have dropped four 5A-West Games in a row.
Other results involving area teams include the Harrison Baseball Goblins also being swept at Greenwood by scores of 1-0 and 10-0.
