The Yellville-Summit Track Teams sweep the team titles at the 2A-1 Track Championships last week in Eureka Springs.
The Boys team outpointed second place Greenland by over 60 points while the Lady Panthers had an even more dominate win, outscoring Greenland by nearly 200 points.
The Boys, while only having four first place finishes, had multiple places in 12 events producing points that compiled the high team totals, including the Pole Vault where the Panthers gained the top four spots led by first place finisher Jaxon Whitsell. Whitsell also finished first in the 300 Meter Hurdles The other first place finishers were Tristan Teel in the Long Jump and the Boys 4 x 800 Meter Relay Team.
On the Girls side, Yellville claimed first place in 15 of 18 Events including all four relays. The finishers were:
Kambree Gibson 100, 200 Meter Dashes, 100, 300 Meter Hurdles, Long and Triple Jumps
KJ Moore 400 Meter Dash, High Jump
Riley Hobson 1600 Meter Run
Fay Chism Pole Vault
Miah Klump Discus
Besides Champion Yellville-Summit and host Eureka Springs, Cotter and Ozark Mountain also were a part of the meet.
The highest finisher for each school:
Cotter: Brooks Cheek 2nd Boys Discus
Eureka Springs: Avery Meyer 3rd Girls Discus
Ozark Mountain: Jasmine Fletcher 3rd Girls Pole Vault
The top finishers will compete in the 2A State Meet this week in Quitman.
