The Arkansas State High School Baseball and Softball Tournaments get underway this week with several area teams involved and some games being played in Harrison.
The Harrison Goblins and Lady Goblins are in the field for the 4A State Tournaments in Nashville. The Baseball Goblins open play at 5:30 on Thursday against Star City while the Lady Goblins get a first round bye and open play on Friday at 3:00 against the winner of Thursday's Bauxite/ Southside-Batesville game. The 3A State Baseball and Softball Tournament Action is taking place at the Equity Bank Sports Complex. No area teams are in the Baseball Field while Valley Springs is playing Bald Knob in the opening round of the Softball Tournament on Thursday at 10:00 am.
Flippin is a part of the 2A Softball Tournament at Southside Bee Branch and they open play against McCrory Thursday at 5:30 pm.
In the 1A State Baseball Tournament in Arkadelphia, Lead Hill opens play against a TBD opponent at 3:00 on Thursday afternoon while Jasper is in the Softball Field and will take on Calico Rock Thursday morning at 10:00.
