Arkansas State Track: Host Lady Goblins Take 10th, Claim One Championship

The Arkansas State Track and Field Championships are underway with competition taking place at several sites, including FS Garrison Stadium in Harrison.

The  Goblin Track Program hosted the 4A Championships Tuesday with the host Girls Team finishing 10th in the team competition. The Lady Goblins claimed one individual title with Clare Barger taking first in the High Jump with a winning jump of 5-4 Ft. The Lady Goblins placed in three other events with Laikland Stephens taking second in the Triple Jump and Reece Ricketts taking second in Shot Put, third in Discuss. 

One the boys side, the only athlete to place in the top eight was William Redd of Berryville, who took 8th in the Shot Put.

In other meets, Green Forest places in both Girls and Boys 3A Meet at Lincoln. The Tigers place 16th as a team, the Lady Tigers tied for 23rd. 

In the 2A Meet at Quitman, Yellville-Summit claims the Girls Team Championship. While the Lady Panthers didn't win any individual titles, they placed in a number of events finishing over 20 points ahead of second place Bigelow. On the boys side, the Panthers took home second place in the team competition which two individual titles, Lucas McVay in the high jump and Tyler Barret in the shot put.

The 1A State Track Meet is scheduled for today in Quitman.
