Chiefs Work Around Mahomes Injury, Win Playoff Game

The Kansas City Chiefs survive a Patrick Mahomes injury and a strong effort from the Jacksonville Jaguars to take a 27-20 AFC Divisional Playoff Game Saturday at GEHA Stadium at Arrowhead.

After leading a touchdown drive on their opening possession of the game, Mahomes sustained an ankle injury and after finishing that drive leading to a field goal, was out most of the second quarter. Back-up Chad Henne led the Chiefs on a 98 yard touchdown drive before Mahomes returned in the second half to lead a pair of scoring drives that were just enough to hold off the Jaguars. The Chiefs defense helped late by forcing a pair of turnovers in the second half to help secure the win and send the Chiefs to their fifth straight AFC Championship Game.

The Chiefs will await the winner of Sunday's Cincinnati at Buffalo contest for their opponent in next week's title game.
