H.S. Football: Harrison Wins Homecoming Game, Mo Schools Await District Opponents

High School Football Friday night recap:

The Harrison Goblins have a successful Homecoming night as they roll by Morrilton 42-7. The Goblins wasted little time as they built a 35-7 halftime lead then cruised to the easy win. Harrison is now 5-3 overall and 2-3 in 5A West Conference Play.

Meanwhile it was a tough night overall for the Missouri Lakes Area schools as only Hollister posted a win, downing Springfield Catholic 48-0. The other squads all suffered big losses as Republic rolled by Branson 42-3, Reeds Spring fell to Rogersville 45-7, and Forsyth was upended by Springfield Central 34-15.

Though the District Standings will not be official until Saturday afternoon, a preliminary look at the numbers indicates that Hollister could host Reeds Spring in a rematch of their regular season game while Branson's loss could send the Pirates to Rolla while Forsyth will be at home to Houston. Some of the final numbers are very close so the Missouri State High School Activities Association will double check the numbers and issue the Final District Standings later Saturday.
