The Equity Bank Sports Complex was the site of a pair of District Diamond Games which resulted in a pair of Harrison wins.
At Jack Williams Field, the Baseball Goblins had a rematch with Gentry, the team that beat them 2-1 last week. The Goblins were able to avenge that loss with an 8-4 win in the 4A-1 District Quarterfinals.
After an early Goblin lead was erased by a three-run Pioneer third inning, the Goblins immediately rebounded with three runs in the bottom half of that inning keyed by infield hits by Cy Madden and Logan Plumlee, who had both also had hits that led to the Goblin run in the second. Dylan Block held the Pioneers in check from there, allowing only one more run in six innings work while Madden pitched a scoreless seventh to secure the win.
Madden and Plumlee each ended up with three hits with two and three RBI respectively while Timber Cremwelge also notched two RBI.
The Goblins will play Farmington in the 4A-1 Semi-finals this evening at 6:30 at Jack Williams Field in a game that can be heard on MOARK Sports Dot Com. The other semi-final at 4:00, also on Williams Field, will feature Huntsville playing Shiloh Christian after the Saints defeated Prairie Grove 8-1 in quarterfinal play Wednesday. All four teams playing today also earn a spot in next week's 4A North Regional Tournament.
Elsewhere in the Sports Complex Wednesday, the Softball Lady Goblins also move on in District play as they defeat Prairie Grove 4-1. Cavenders Field will also host the semi-final games today with Harrison playing Gravette at 4:00 while Farmington will take on Pea Ridge at 6:00.
