Goblins escape Mt. Home with close victory.
Harrison improved to 2-0 on the young football season while in Mt. Home facing a much-improved Bomber team beating them 28-21.
The air attack won the game for the Goblins as they were led by quarterback Logan Plumlee who after going 6-15 in passing last week went 19-25 with 241 passing yards and three touchdowns as well as one interception against the Bombers. Plumlee connected six times with both Dylan Block and Sloan Barret as well as two receptions by Cy Madden and Abe Estes with one catch for Alex Mills, Beck Jones, and Kaden Quandt.
Mt. Home was led by their ground attack which totaled 260 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to lead rusher Gage Lindsey who ran for 91 yards on the night. Landon Speer added one score to give the Bombers their 21 point total.
The Goblins rushing totaled only 45 yards but added one touchdown scored by Brody Gilliam. Jones led the team in rushing yards with a total of 24 on eight attempts.
According to a social media post by the Harrison Golden Goblins this is the 55th time in 74 years that Harrison has defeated Mt. Home.
The Goblins now prepare for their home opener on Friday, September 10, against the Siloam Springs Panthers. The game will start at 7:00PM with live coverage on New County 102.9 starting at 4:30 with a Goblin tailgate party, at 5:30 will start the statewide high school preview by hootens.com, and at 6 will begin New Country’s local pregame show leading up to kickoff.
