Three Goblin Baseball Players with College Baseball Plans

Cylan Madden, Sloan Barrett, and Dylan Block all say they know where they are going after their final season of Goblin Baseball.

With the 2022 Goblin Baseball season less than one month away three Goblin players have announced where they plan to attend college and continue their baseball careers.

Harrison Senior Cylan Madden has committed to play baseball for the Vikings of Grayson College in Denison Texas.

Madden’s Junior year was impressive with a batting average of .340 and knocking 11 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 30 RBIs. On top of that Madden also pitched 28 innings with 35 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.02.

Regarding Madden Head Coach Matt Rodden said, “He is an extreme competitor and vocal leader for our team.  I look for Cy to have a big, big year for the Goblins in 2022. [He’s a] four-year starter.  Primarily plays first base but is an excellent outfielder.  Electric arm on the mound.  Cy has been an outstanding player for us his entire career.

In addition, Harrison Senior Sloan Barrett has signed with Arkansas Tech University to play baseball for the Wonder Boys.

Barrett enters his senior season with the Harrison Goblins after an impressive Junior year. He put together a season with a .305 batting average, seven doubles, 20 RBI’s and nine stolen bases.

Coach Rodden said, "Very talented, versatile player.  Plays many positions.  Played primarily 3B last season but will play shortstop and second base as well as center field for us.  Great leadoff hitter who hits from the left side.  I believe Sloan will have a huge year for us, he has been a great player for us for four years.

Finally, Harrison Senior Dylan Block has committed to playing baseball for the Archers of St. Louis Community College.

Block also had an impressive Junior year, hitting with a .408 average, amassing 15 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 44 RBI’s, and 17 stolen bases. In addition to his offensive numbers Block also pitched 45 innings with a 7-0 record and 37 strikeouts for an ERA of 2.86.

Coach Rodden said, “Dylan has been consistently great for us throughout his career, and I look for him to have another great year for the Goblins. [He’s a] four-year starter at shortstop.  One of the most gifted players to come through our program.  Also is one of our primary pitchers.  Hits with power to all fields and drives in a lot of runs.”

As a whole Coach Rodden said this group of seniors has been and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with.

“All three of these guys are two sport athletes and have been incredibly productive for the Goblin baseball and football programs.  They have done an excellent job leading our younger players and continuing to develop their own talents.  All three had goals to play college baseball and worked extremely hard to accomplish that goal, I am very proud of them for that.  It is exciting to know that we have them back for one more season and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish this spring.

The Goblins will open their regular season the first week of March and you can hear live coverage of Goblin Baseball & Softball on The Original KHOZ, 94.9 FM & AM 900 and at KHOZ.COM!
