Yahtzee! Goblin Football Wins Week 0

Goblin football takes a 26-7 victory over the Magnolia Panthers

The Harrison Goblins kicked off the 2021 football season Friday night against the Magnolia Panthers. The game was played at Harding University where the Goblins came through with a 26-7 victory.

Logan Plumlee was the only passer in the game and threw for 96 yards and 1 touchdown while going 6 for 15 overall. He and Beck Jones are sharing the QB position this year. Coach Joel Wells described these two quarterbacks prior to Friday night’s game on KHOZ’s “Around The Table” saying, “Logan [Plumlee] throws the ball extremely well, he’s been running the ball better as well. Beck [Jones] is a tremendous runner and is a much-improved thrower.”

Jones didn’t contribute any passing yardage but rushed for 30 yards while two other Goblins contributed more than 40 yards on the ground. Cy Madden (44 Yards, 2 TDs) and Brody Gilliam (48 yards, 1TD) led the team in the ground attack while Alex Mills contributed 34 yards and Vann Richards rushed for 8.

Sloan Barrett caught the ball 3 times for a total of 30 yards while Dylan Block, Brody Gillam, and Talon Stephens each caught one pass with Stephen’s reception resulting in a touchdown.

The Goblins now prepare to face the Mt. Home Bombers on Friday September 3rd in their first home game of the season.
