Branson Golf Heading to State, Other News of the Week

This past week saw one Branson Sports Team punch a ticket to the state tournament and another get a second place postseason finish.

The Lady Pirates Golf Squad take home second place in the Class 3 District in Marshfield which will send the top four players to the State Golf Tournament. Maci Rogers was the highest individual Lady Pirate finisher, taking home 11th place. The State Tournament will take place October 16 and 17th in Farmington.

The Lady Pirate Tennis Team finishes second in the Class 2 District Tournament. After beating Hillcrest and Glendale in the first two rounds, the Lady Pirates fall 5-0 in the championship match to Springfield Catholic.

After going 1-2 during the week, the Branson Lady Pirate Softball team plays their final two home games Saturday splitting the games, losing to Francis Howell 13-0 before rallying for a 4-3 win over Bolivar. Branson closes out the regular season with road games at Carl Junction Monday and Reeds Spring Tuesday. 

Nixa sweeps the titles at the annual Cedar Ridge Invitational hosted by the Branson High School. Pirate runner Tristan Bough was the highest Pirate finisher taking 13th in the individual race. The Branson Boys finished 8th, the Girls 6th in the team standings.
