Area Golfers Compete at State Golf Tournament

Several golfers from the region take part in the Arkansas State Golf Championships.

Harrison's Boys qualified as a team finishing seventh in the 5A Team Competition. Berkley Knapp and Isaac Freeman had the two low scores for Harrison in the field shooting a 77 and 78 respectively. Harrison Lady Goblin Brynne Bonds also qualified for the State Tournament held in Alma.

The 4A Tournament in Jonesboro included Berryville Bobcat Titus Gregory in the field, shooting 95 according to a report in the Harrison Daily Times.

Two schools represented the area in the 3A State Tournament at  . Flippin finishes second in the Boys Team event with Tucker Thompson finishing tied for 5th and Cody Downs finishing tied for 11th to earn All-State Honors.

In the Girls Tournament, Valley Springs takes 6th, Flippin 10th. Landrey King of Valley Springs earns All-State Honors finishing in 8th place.

In 2A, Yellville-Summit finishes 10th in the Boys Tournament, 9th in the Girls event.

Kingston and Lead Hill took part in the 1A Girls State Tournament. Kingston finished 5th, Lead Hill 7th in the team standings with Kingston Golfer Lauren Fancher finishing 5th to earn All-State Honors.
