Six baseball squads from three states were in the Tri-Lakes Region this weekend for a baseball showcase tournament hosted by College of the Ozarks.
The team from Bartlesville, Oklahoma ends up winning all five of their games in the three day event with teams from Mountain Home, Arkansas and Springfield Kickapoo each winning four of five.
The JC Blazers from Jefferson County, Missouri as well as local teams Forsyth and Hollister also participated. The tournament was scheduled for College of the Ozarks all three days but three games were moved to Forsyth on Friday due to thunderstorms that moved through the Lakes Region.
Tournament co-director Justin McMillian tells MOARK Sports that the showcase returned this year after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Showcase had been co-hosted by C of O and the Branson Baseball program in the past but this year's field was scaled down due to several teams having to pull out at the last minute. McMillian hopes next year's event can build back up to around a 20 team event.
