Branson Lady Pirate Softball Season Ends in One Run Loss

The Branson Lady Pirates fall one run short in their quest to keep their season going as they drop a 6-5 decision to Neosho in the Class 4 District Softball Tournament Wednesday in Neosho.

The Lady Pirates jumped out to a 4-1 led with two runs in each of the second and third innings, including two on a home run by Sierra Dailey, however the host Lady Wildcats tied the game in the bottom of the third then scored a run each over the next two innings. In their last at bat, Branson closed the gap to one then had the potential tying run called out at the plate, a call that was argued by the Branson Coaches on based on their belief that the catcher had blocked the plate before having the ball, but the out call stood and the Lady Pirate season ends with an 12-15 mark.
