C of O Baseball Sweeps, Basketball Splits

Baseball and Basketball again both have a busy day on campus Tuesday.

The Baseball Bobcats hosted a doubleheader against Baptist Bible College and pick up their first two wins of the season, winning game one 10-1 and game two 11-8. Spencer Greene pitches a complete game in the opener and also homered to help in the Bobcat win while in game two, the Bobcats raced out to a 6-0 lead after two then held off several BBC rallies to complete the sweep.

On the Basketball court Tuesday night, the team's split against Bacone College. The Lady Bobcats rolled to an 86-37 win. Kayley Frank, who recently was named the NCCAA Scholar Athlete of the Week, led three Lady Bobcats in double figures with 21 points. In the nightcap, the Bobcats lost in overtime to Bacone 87-86. The Bobcats trailed most of the game but rallied to tie it and send it to overtime. The Bobcats built a four point lead late in the extra period only to see Bacone take advantage of Bobcat turnovers and end the game on a 5-0 run. 

 All three teams have more home action later this week at home. The Baseball Bobcats host Columbia College in a four games series beginning on Friday while the Basketball teams play their final home games of the regular season on Saturday. The Lady Bobcats will host Iowa Wesleyan, the Bobcats Ecclesia College in games at 1:00 and 3:00.
