MOARK Baseball Recap: Pirates Rebound from Losing Streak

Friday's Baseball Action on MOARK Sports included a rebound win after a losing streak for the Branson Pirates.

Hosting the Dan Furst Tournament, which this year was also a part of the Hollister Baseball Festival, the Pirates opened play on a frigid Friday against Sylvan Hills from Arkansas and jumped out to the lead with a seven run first inning, with the key hits a three run homer from Carter Jenkins and a two RBI double by Ridge Schroeder. The visiting Bears did battle back over the next three innings eventually cutting the lead to one before the Pirates answered with three runs over the next two inning to get the 10-6 win breaking Branson's three game losing streak.

While the losing streak spanned games over six days, it took just 24 hours to get those games back. After the Pirate win on Friday, Branson gained two more wins on Saturday, edging Marshfield 1-0 and getting a 5-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas to wrap-up the Furst Tournament.

Branson is scheduled to play at Kickapoo on Monday with their next game on MOARK Sports scheduled for Tuesday at Ozark.

Also on MOARK Sports Friday, both the host Tigers and Forsyth picked up wins during the Baseball Festival in Hollister. The Tigers recover from an early 4-0 hole to role to a 14-4 win over Hillcrest with the Panthers following that with a 4-0 win over the Hornets. Both the Tigers and Panthers lost to Summit Christian on Saturday, the Panthers 7-1, the Tigers 9-0.
