Keynote Speaker Kevin Sorbo was joined by a last minute addition at the South Central Missouri Fellowship of Christian Athletes Banquet Thursday night in Branson.
South Central FCA Director Brian Mitchell tells Ozarks Dynacom that NBA Player Jonathan Isaac had reached out after hearing about the event and was in the region and flew in to join Sorbo as one of the speakers for the event.
Isaac, a member of the Orlando Magic who missed this past season due to injury, tells Ozarks First that there is a bigger picture in the country besides just issue of black and white, which led him to write the book “Why I Stand.”
During the evening, the Male FCA Athlete of the Year Award went to Isaiah Mitchell of Blue Eye while Natalie Johnson of Southwest won the Female Athlete of the Year. Branson Football Coach Anthony Hayes, who is leaving at the end of the school year to take the football position at Savannah High School, won Coach of the Year honors.
